Taylor McCaffrey supports Jameela: A Celebration of Women
By Taylor McCaffrey LLP on 2017/05/06
Taylor McCaffrey is proud to be supporting Jameela: A Celebration of Women on May 6th, 2017 at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. Jameela translates to “beauty” in Arabic, and this event seeks to bring out beauty by empowering women and raising money for Canadian Muslim Women’s Institute (CMWI).
The Canadian Muslim Women’s Institute Inc. (CMWI) is a first-of-it’s-kind non-profit organization where Muslim women are both the leaders and participants. The goal of the Institute is to promote and empower refugee and newcomer women and their families socially, economically and spiritually.
CMWI is a direct service delivery organization serving members through a variety of programs, which cater to the needs of long-time residents, new immigrants and refugees.
Jameela is Winnipeg’s premier women’s only evening that allows women to share in friendship, diversity, fashion and food. Hosted by Stephanie Staples and Nadia Kidwaii, attendees will hear inspiring stories from female leaders, take in entertainment by incredible singers and dancers, and enjoy a fashion show by local designers showcasing their Spring 2017 collections.
Jameela is an event to connect women of all ages, beliefs and cultures and celebrate beauty in all forms. In addition to sponsoring the event on a friend level, Taylor McCaffrey LLP purchased tickets that CMWI will pass along to newcomers to Canada, and refugees, to invite them to take part in this uplifting event as well.
